dc.description.abstractor direct violation, the notion of human dignity is too often seriously obstructed and even disfigured. Hence, human dignity has proven to be a vague term in the liberal rights discourse due to its broad range. This article endeavours to provide a Christian definition of human dignity as it relates to young people in Northern Nigeria. Firstly, it will seek to address an understanding of human dignity as it ought to be considered in the public and the theological domain. Secondly, the article will consider the violation of young people’s dignity by Boko Haram’s violence in Northern Nigeria, and lastly, this article will suggest ways that the church, youth workers and communities can contribute to helping restore the dignity of young people, especially those affected by the Boko Haram menace.
