There is no uniform hermeneutical approach applied to the text that resonates with the issue of the ‘Armour of God’ as a resource for spiritual warfare in some Pentecostal churches. This research exegeted the text of the study using two methods namely rhetorical criticism, specifically the method of Pentadic criticism, and Pragmatic analysis, particularly the method of Speech Act Theory. Abuses by church leaders are evident in the manipulation of the congregants financially, spiritually, physically, sociologically, and psychologically as indicated in this study. The focus of this study is therefore, directed to the interpretation and application of the text of Ephesians 6:11-18, to better understand the metaphor of the ‘Armour of God’ as a resource for spiritual warfare, and also to correct the abuse of the spiritual warfare teachings by some leaders in some of the Pentecostal churches. This addresses the spiritual warfare teachings and the use of the resources available in the Armour of God and contribute to academia. The study highlights the rhetorical strategies employed by the Apostle Paul to convey the significance of spiritual preparedness and defence. Additionally, it investigates the practical implications of these teachings in the daily lives of believers. By integrating rhetorical analysis with pragmatic considerations, this research provides an understanding of how the Armour of God serves as a foundational tool for spiritual warfare, empowering believers to navigate their spiritual journeys with confidence and strength.enRhetorical And Pragmatic Analysis Of Ephesians 6:11-18: Examining The Misuse Of The Spiritual Warfare Metaphor In Pentecostal Churches In AfricaThesis
